The Atlanta Police Athletic League is excited to announce our annual fundraising event, the Guns N' Hoses Amateur Boxing Championship will take place December 1, 2016. This year’s event will be held at the Tabernacle in downtown Atlanta (152 Luckie St NW) and will feature PAL youth, Police Officers, and Firefighters.

PAL is currently looking for Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters, and anyone who is certified as a Public Safety Officer and/or First Responder to participate in our annual and only fundraiser Guns N’ Hoses Boxing Tournament. This event wouldn’t be possible without the officers and firefighters who heroically volunteer their time to prepare and train for this event.

Participants will be trained by Officer Mike Vail and Officer Jaidon Codrington, who have over 30 years of boxing experience, and both were trained at The United States Olympic Education Center at Northern Michigan University.

As a participant, you will be matched with an opponent according to your age, weight, ability and skill level. The winner of each bout will receive a Championship belt to keep.

The competition is a USA Boxing sanctioned event with three 1-minute rounds. Boxers are equipped and use 18oz gloves and head gear to ensure that everyone is safe.

If you are interested in participating, please contact any PAL staff member at 404-799-2340 or 678-428-3002. please request Officer Mike Vail you can also email us at mvail@atlantaga.gov; CC atlantapal@atlantaga.gov and SgtFlinders@gmail.com

The Guns N' Hoses Amateur Boxing Championship raises money that allows the Atlanta PAL Centers to continue our programs and services at NO CHARGE to our inner city kids. 100 percent of the proceeds raised will go directly to PAL youth.

As a non-profit charitable organization, we rely heavily on the generous donations of our sponsors and partners so we can continue to provide programs that promote self-responsibility, academic achievement, and various social skills to the youth of Atlanta.
